Sorry for the lack of updates. It's been a busy summer. As you can see, the construction has been moving at an impressive pace. These photos are actually a couple weeks old. Most of the roof on the new structure has been put in place by now and the cinderblock walls are going up quickly, too. These photos are all from the construction on the south side except the first one, which shows the new outer wall in the northwest corner's stairwell.

There haven't been updates in a while because there's not much new on the outside. On the inside, among other things, the benches are being split to opposite sides of the ice.

The staircase between Biotech and Lynah has been demolished as they begin work on the new loading dock for the Life Sciences building. You can also see where the colored glass wall that used to be in the northwest corner of Lynah facing the parking lot has been replaced with a cinderblock wall with windows. That area wasn't used for anything much besides stationary bike storage, so perhaps they have better plans for it now.

There's quite a bit of activity on the south side. Excavation of the new hole, construction in the old hole, and lots more... err... stuff cluttering up the work area.

Construction on the south side hole is moving along and another hole is being dug in that area closer to Bartels Hall. You can also see the wall on the north side going up from the view out of the very dirty Biotech windows. With the parking lot and walkways around that area closed for construction, I'm running out of photo locations.

I'm back from Cali, so there will be more frequent updates now. Work is moving along. The south hole keeps getting bigger by the day and the outer wall on the north side is well on its way.

Some more photos of the extensive excavation on the south side. More concrete is being poured on the north side, but there's not much to see there. Also, the ice is now gone.

Excavation continues on the south side. Photos of that coming tomorrow. Here are photos of the north side where they're starting to pour concrete for the new outer wall. It doesn't seem like the walkway behind the new seating area is going to be very wide. In fact, it doesn't look like there will be much more room than currently exists. Seems silly to me. It's not like that space is being used for anything. When Princeton did the same thing, they made sure the walkways were very wide.

Serious excavation has started on the south. On the north side, there's lots of activity, with concrete being poured. For now here's a photo of the north side from Friday. I'll try to get something later on from the north side when activity settles down.
